Ingredients

1 lb (450g) chicken tenderloins

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup panko bread crumbs

2 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

1/2 cup honey

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Instructions

Prepare Chicken: Rinse the chicken tenderloins and pat them dry using paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.

    Bread the Chicken:

      - Set up a breading station: Place flour, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in one shallow bowl. In a second bowl, pour in the beaten eggs. In a third bowl, add the panko bread crumbs.

        - Dredge each chicken tender first in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s well-coated, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with panko breadcrumbs. Press the crumbs onto the chicken for better adhesion.

          Prepare the Sauce:

            - In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir and cook until the sauce simmers and thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

              Fry the Chicken:

                - In a large skillet, pour enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom, about 1/4 inch deep. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

                  - Fry the breaded chicken tenders in batches, cooking for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

                    - Transfer cooked tenders to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

                      Toss in Sauce:

                        - In a large bowl, combine the fried chicken tenders with the honey garlic sauce and toss until evenly coated.

                          Serve:

                            - Serve your honey garlic crispy chicken tenders hot, garnished with additional crushed red pepper flakes and chopped green onions if desired.
