Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup walnuts

1 cup tempura batter mix

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup honey

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

Vegetable oil for frying

Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, bring enough vegetable oil to cover the walnuts (approximately 1-2 inches deep) to 350°F (175°C).

Add the walnuts to the hot oil and fry for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain. Set aside.

In a mixing bowl, combine the tempura batter mix and milk. Whisk until smooth and well combined.

Dip the peeled and deveined shrimp into the tempura batter, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Carefully place the battered shrimp into the hot oil (in batches if necessary) and fry for 2-4 minutes until they turn golden and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

In a separate bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, honey, lemon juice, garlic powder, and salt to create a creamy sauce. Adjust sweetness or tanginess by adding more honey or lemon juice if desired.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the fried shrimp, creamy sauce, and half of the fried walnuts. Gently toss to coat everything evenly.

Transfer the honey walnut shrimp to a serving dish and top with the remaining walnuts.

Garnish with chopped green onions for a fresh touch.
