Ingredients

4 slices of thick-cut bread (like sourdough or brioche)

2 hot dogs (your choice: beef, pork, turkey, or vegetarian)

4 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your favorite melty cheese)

2 tablespoons of butter

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)

1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Skillet: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Prepare the Hot Dogs: While the skillet heats up, slice the hot dogs lengthwise down the middle. You can cut them entirely in half or leave them connected on one side for a 'hinge' effect.

Cook the Hot Dogs: Place the halved hot dogs in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are browned and slightly crisped. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Butter the Bread: Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.

Assemble Sandwiches: In the skillet, place two slices of bread butter-side down. Layer two slices of cheese on each, then add the cooked hot dogs, followed by another layer of cheese, and top each with the remaining slices of bread, butter-side up.

Grill to Perfection: Cook for about 4-5 minutes or until the bottom slice is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt. Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 4-5 minutes until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.

Serve: Remove from skillet, slice in half if desired, and serve warm with a side of mustard or ketchup for dipping. Optionally, garnish with fresh parsley.
