Ingredients

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 can (8 oz) King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, sliced in half horizontally

1/2 cup pineapple tidbits (drained)

1/4 cup shredded coconut

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 large egg (beaten for egg wash)

1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat until smooth and creamy.

Assemble the Danish: Take each half of the King's Hawaiian sweet rolls and spread a generous tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture on each cut side.

Add Pineapple and Coconut: Sprinkle a few pineapple tidbits and shredded coconut on top of the cream cheese mixture. Press down gently to ensure they stick.

Close the Danish: Place the other half of the sweet roll on top of the filled half, creating a sandwich-like structure.

Apply Egg Wash: Brush the tops of each Danish with the beaten egg to give them a beautiful golden color while baking.

Bake: Arrange the assembled Danishes on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and puffed up.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Brush the tops with melted butter for added richness. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Enjoy: Serve warm and enjoy the delightful combination of sweet, creamy, and tropical flavors!
