Ingredients

6 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon

1 cup sour cream

1 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and black pepper to taste

1/4 cup green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.

Layer half of the sliced potatoes evenly on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Drizzle half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese and half of the crumbled bacon.

Top with the remaining potato slices, then repeat the layering with the rest of the cream mixture, cheese, and bacon.

Dot the top layer with 2 tablespoons of butter, cut into small pieces.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbly.

Once baked, let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving to allow everything to set.

Garnish with sliced green onions before serving for a pop of color and freshness.
