Ingredients

2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1/4 cup buttermilk

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

1 tablespoon butter

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, mix the buttermilk, olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, thyme, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add the chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for maximum tenderness.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Sear the Chicken: In an oven-safe skillet, heat the butter over medium-high heat until melted and bubbly. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. Carefully add the chicken to the hot skillet. Sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Bake the Chicken: After both sides are nicely browned, transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is cooked through.

Rest and Serve: Once done, allow the chicken breasts to rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with your choice of sides such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad.
