Ingredients

1 package (20 oz) frozen cheese ravioli

1 lb ground beef

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

1 can (15 oz) ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning into the skillet. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until well blended.

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce at the bottom. Then layer half of the frozen ravioli over the meat sauce.

Spoon half of the ricotta mixture over the ravioli and sprinkle with one-third of the mozzarella cheese.

Repeat the layers with the remaining meat sauce, ravioli, ricotta mixture, and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and the rest of the grated Parmesan.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
