Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed

4 slices of turkey breast or smoked turkey

4 slices of ham

4 slices of Swiss cheese

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Fresh thyme leaves (for garnish)

Olive oil (for greasing)

Instructions

Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.

Roll the Pastry: On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry until it is about 1/8 inch thick. Cut the pastry into four equal squares.

Layer the Ingredients: On each square of puff pastry, layer 1 slice of turkey, 1 slice of ham, and 1 slice of Swiss cheese in the center.

Fold the Pastry: Fold the corners of the puff pastry over the filling to create a pocket. Pinch the edges to seal and ensure the cheese doesn't ooze out during baking.

Prepare the Egg Wash: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper. Brush this egg wash generously over each puff pastry pocket.

Bake: Place the filled puff pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed.

Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving for a sweet finish. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves.

Enjoy: Serve warm, perhaps with a side of mixed greens for a touch of freshness.
