Ingredients

6 large croissants, day-old or stale, torn into pieces

6 large eggs

2 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese

1 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage (or bacon, if preferred)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt

Fresh chives or parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt until well combined.

Add the torn croissant pieces to the egg mixture and gently fold them in, ensuring all pieces are covered in the mixture. Allow to soak for about 10 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the soaked croissant mixture, pressing it down gently.

Sprinkle the cooked sausage evenly over the croissant layer, followed by the shredded cheddar and crumbled feta.

Pour the remaining croissant mixture over the top, ensuring it is evenly distributed.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 4 hours if short on time).

The next morning, remove the casserole from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes.

Bake covered for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden and the casserole is set in the center.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour (plus overnight refrigeration) | Servings: 8
