Ingredients

1 pound pork sausage (preferably spicy or sage-flavored)

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

2 cups self-rising flour

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup milk (or buttermilk for extra tang)

Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

In a large bowl, combine the pork sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, self-rising flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until everything is evenly incorporated.

Gradually add the milk to the mixture, stirring until the dough comes together. You want a firm but pliable texture; you may need to adjust the milk amount.

Using your hands or a cookie scoop, form small balls about the size of a golf ball and place them onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. If desired, garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

Serve warm as an appetizer or snack, with your favorite dipping sauce.
