Ingredients

4 cups day-old bread, cubed (like brioche or challah)

2 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

3 large eggs

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

Pinch of salt

1 tablespoon butter, for greasing

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Whisk together until well blended.

Slowly add the cubed bread to the mixture, ensuring all pieces are soaked in the custard. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the liquid.

Gently fold in the sliced peaches, ensuring they're evenly distributed throughout the bread mixture.

Pour the bread pudding mixture into the prepared baking dish.

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar with a tablespoon of butter until it resembles a crumble. Sprinkle this over the top of the bread pudding.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the center is set and the top is golden brown. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
