Ingredients

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

1/2 cup crushed candy canes (plus extra for garnish)

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

3/4 cup white chocolate chips (optional for layering)

Instructions

Prepare the Pan: Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to make removal easier. Grease lightly with cooking spray.

Melt the Chocolate Mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and unsalted butter. Stir over low heat until the mixture is melted and smooth.

Add Flavor: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the peppermint extract and sea salt until well blended.

Incorporate Candy Canes: Fold in the crushed candy canes until evenly distributed throughout the fudge mixture.

Optional White Layer: If using white chocolate chips, melt them in a separate bowl using a microwave or double boiler until smooth. Pour the melted white chocolate over the brownie fudge layer in the baking dish and gently swirl to create a marbled effect.

Set the Fudge: Pour the chocolate-peppermint mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle some extra crushed candy canes on top for decoration.

Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.

Cut and Serve: Once set, lift the fudge out of the baking dish using the overhanging parchment. Cut into small squares and enjoy!

Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
