Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
