Ingredients

8 oz (225g) spaghetti or fettuccine

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: Red pepper flakes for a spicy kick

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the spaghetti or fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant but not browned.

Make the Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

Season the Sauce: Add Italian seasoning, and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. For added heat, sprinkle in red pepper flakes if desired.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat well in the creamy garlic sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through and allow the flavors to meld.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with additional Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
