8 oz (225g) spaghetti or your pasta of choice

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

    Sauté Garlic: In the same pot, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden—be careful not to burn it.

      Make the Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt and combine with the cream. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

        Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the creamy garlic sauce, tossing it well to ensure all the noodles are coated. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some reserved pasta water until you reach your desired creaminess.

          Serve: Remove from heat. Plate the pasta and garnish with freshly chopped parsley and additional Parmesan, if desired. Serve immediately.
