Ingredients

1 lb ground sausage (mild or spicy based on preference)

1 (10 oz) can of Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 package of crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage, breaking it apart with a spatula until it’s fully browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Lower the heat and add the can of Rotel (with juice), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.

Add the softened cream cheese to the skillet, mixing until smooth and fully incorporated with the sausage mixture. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles on a clean surface.

Spoon a generous amount of the sausage and cream cheese mixture onto the wider end of each triangle, sprinkle a little cheddar cheese on top, then roll it up from the wide end to the point, forming a crescent shape.

Place the rolled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Once finished, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired before serving.
