Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 lb ground sausage (mild or spicy, based on preference)

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1 can (10 oz) Rotel tomatoes with green chilies (drained)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Lower the heat and add in the softened cream cheese, stirring until it melts and blends with the sausage.

Fold in the drained Rotel tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and season with salt and pepper. Mix until evenly combined. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

On a clean surface, unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles as per the package instructions.

Place a generous spoonful of the sausage filling at the wide end of each triangle. Roll the dough up towards the tip, enclosing the filling completely.

Place the rolled crescents on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and flaky.

Once the crescents are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

If desired, garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
