Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup broccoli florets (optional)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Begin by cooking the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions. Add salt to the boiling water for flavor. If using broccoli, add it to the pot during the last 2 minutes of cooking. Once cooked, drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turns pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smoothly combined, creating a rich Alfredo sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Add the cooked fettuccine and shrimp to the sauce, tossing gently to coat all the pasta and shrimp with the creamy sauce. If using broccoli, add it back to the skillet now, mixing everything until well combined.

Serve immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color.
