Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 large onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Cooked rice or steamed broccoli, for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the meat evenly and set aside for about 20 minutes to marinate.

Heat the Wok: In a large wok or skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat until it shimmers.

Stir-Fry the Steak: Add the marinated beef to the wok in a single layer. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned and nearly cooked through. Remove the beef from the wok and set it aside on a plate.

Sauté the Vegetables: In the same wok, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions, green, and red bell peppers. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Add Aromatics: Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.

Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked beef to the wok with the vegetables. Add the oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Toss everything together and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the beef to cook through.

Serve: Serve hot on a sizzling platter over cooked rice or alongside steamed broccoli for a delicious meal.
