Sour Cream Beef Noodle Casserole

Ingredients
  

12 oz wide egg noodles

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)

1 cup frozen peas (optional)

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tsp dried parsley (for garnish)

Cooking spray or olive oil

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Cook the Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the wide egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

      Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula. Drain excess fat.

        Mix the Casserole Base: In the skillet with the browned beef, stir in the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well, and season with salt and pepper to taste. If using, fold in the frozen peas.

          Combine with Noodles: In a large mixing bowl or casserole dish, combine the cooked noodles with the beef mixture until evenly coated.

            Transfer to Baking Dish: Spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Transfer the noodle and beef mixture to the dish, spreading it evenly.

              Add Cheese Topping: Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese on top of the casserole.

                Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.

                  Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes. Sprinkle dried parsley on top for garnish. Serve warm.
