Ingredients

2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 cup chicken broth

1/3 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons bourbon-flavored extract (non-alcoholic)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Steaks: Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking. Pat them dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.

Sear the Steaks: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate, covered loosely with foil.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add minced garlic and smoked paprika, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, stirring frequently to avoid burning.

Deglaze and Cream Up: Carefully add the chicken broth to the skillet, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly. Stir in the heavy cream, bourbon-flavored extract, and Dijon mustard, mixing well. Simmer the sauce for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until it thickens to your desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Plate and Serve: Slice the rested steaks against the grain and place them on individual plates. Generously spoon the bourbon garlic cream sauce over the steak slices.

Garnish: Finish with a sprinkle of freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and added flavor.
