Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

12 oz (340g) pasta (fusilli or rotini preferred)

1 cup (240ml) beef broth

1 cup (240ml) heavy cream

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup (100g) grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup (150g) frozen peas

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Cook the Beef: Add the ground beef to the pot, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Create the Sauce: Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream and let it cook for about 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combine: Add the cooked pasta, frozen peas, and Parmesan cheese to the pot. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed for desired creaminess.

Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
