Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk, warmed

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup strawberry jam

1 egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water)

Extra powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

In a large bowl, mix together the warm milk, melted butter, and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the mixture and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

Add in the egg, flour, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

While the dough rises, prepare the filling by combining softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and chopped strawberries in a bowl. Mix until smooth and set aside.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 12x18 inches).

Spread the strawberry jam over the dough, followed by the cream cheese mixture. Roll the dough tightly from the long side.

Slice the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish. Cover them and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg wash.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then dust with extra powdered sugar before serving.
