Ingredients

2 cups fresh or frozen sweet peas

1 cup whole milk

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1 tablespoon honey (or to taste)

Salt, to taste

Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Cracked black pepper, optional

Instructions

Prepare the Sweet Peas: If you are using fresh peas, remove them from their pods. If using frozen, allow them to thaw slightly until they are softened.

Warm the Milk: In a medium saucepan, gently heat the whole milk over low heat. Do not let it boil; just warm it enough to coax out its creamy flavor.

Cook the Peas: In a separate skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the sweet peas and sauté them for about 4-5 minutes until they are tender and vibrant green.

Combine Ingredients: Add the warm milk to the skillet with the sautéed peas. Stir in the honey and season with a pinch of salt. Let the mixture simmer gently for another 3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Serve: Spoon the creamy peas into shallow bowls. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and, if desired, a light sprinkle of cracked black pepper for a touch of heat.

Enjoy: Serve warm as a delightful side dish or a unique appetizer!
