Ingredients

1 loaf of crusty Italian bread

1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

1 bell pepper (red or green), thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

8 ounces provolone cheese, shredded

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté until they are softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.

Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced ribeye steak to the empty side. Season the meat with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the steak is browned and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes, mixing with the vegetables as it cooks.

Slice the Italian bread lengthwise and hollow out some of the inside to make room for the filling. Place the bread on a baking sheet, cut side up.

Spoon the steak and vegetable mixture evenly into the hollowed bread. Top generously with shredded provolone cheese.

Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is crispy.

Once removed from the oven, let it cool for a minute before slicing into individual servings. Garnish with fresh parsley.
