3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (milk chocolate recommended)

1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, like pecans or walnuts)

Sea salt flakes (for garnish)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

      Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary.

        Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

          Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

            Fold in Chocolate Chips and Nuts: Gently fold in the chocolate chips and optional nuts into the cookie dough.
