Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 medium green bell pepper, diced

1 cup sliced mushrooms

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 cup beef broth

1 cup provolone cheese, shredded

4 hamburger buns or hoagie rolls

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil for cooking

Optional: hot sauce for added heat

Instructions

In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and diced green bell pepper, cooking for about 5 minutes until softened.

Stir in the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic, and continue cooking until the mushrooms are tender, about another 3-4 minutes.

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and beef broth. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes, letting it thicken. If the mixture gets too thick, add more beef broth as needed.

Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, add hot sauce for some extra kick.

Once the mixture is well combined and heated through, remove it from the heat and stir in the shredded provolone cheese until melted and creamy.

Serve the cheesy beef mixture on toasted hamburger buns or hoagie rolls, and enjoy your Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes!
